After a long day of exploring, this hideaway on Big Branch Creek welcomes you home with the perfect balance of classic cabin warmth and modern style. There’s plenty of room here to make memories—come together in a cozy living area, inviting dining room, or toast marshmallows under the stars around the outdoor firepit.

Spend an afternoon on the waters at Watauga Lake, enjoying mountain views while catching walleye and bigmouth bass. For a little more solitude, try your hand at fly fishing in local streams. Laurel Fork, Tiger Creek, Little Doe River and Upper Hampton Creek are known for their trout.

If you’d rather spend your day on the trail, you’ll have plenty to choose from. Wander through balsam forest to waterfalls—the trailhead for Laurel Falls and Coon Den Falls are both less than 15 minutes away. You’ll also find some of the Appalachian Trail’s most show-stopping scenery right here on the Tennessee-North Carolina border. Hop on at Carvers Gap, home to the world’s largest natural rhododendron garden, and hike west to Roan High Knob for a breathtaking vista.

For a change of pace, you’re within an hour of half a dozen beloved mountain cities, from historically charming Elizabethton to bustling Johnson City. Whether it’s Erwin or Jonesborough, Banner Elk or Boone, daytrippable destinations can be found all around.

The main road (Dennis Cove Rd) up to the Cabin is 2,598ft in elevation.
You have access to the entire 1,344 sq ft Cabin along with 0.69 acre lot. Make yourselves at home.

Headwaters takes its cue from the mountain beauty it’s surrounded by. It’s as tranquil as the creek that runs alongside it. As delightful as the wildflowers blooming all around it. Even the most tireless adventurers will look forward to the moment they kick off their boots at its front door.

After a day on the trail or on the river, indulge in full-fledged feasts: a modern kitchen offers everything you’ll need to channel your inner chef. If the night calls for southern BBQ, grill your favorites on the back porch.

Once dinner’s ready, there’s room for everyone at the table in the warm wood dining area. Afterwards, make your way to the living room to chat by the fire or snuggle up for a movie. Or wander back outside—bring a nightcap out to the front porch as the stars come out, or gather everyone around the firepit for campfire stories.

Dream of the next day’s adventure in the King-size downstairs bedroom, or the upstairs loft with two queen-size beds. Each offers their own full bathroom. Feel free to pack light—you’ll also have access to a laundry room.

We do not have any recording devices anywhere on the inside of the Cabin.
